Bladder and bowel diaries your patients actually finish

Send a diary link from Cliniko. Your patient logs every drink, wee and bowel motion on their phone. You get a charted, flagged report back, ready to file. No paper, no adding up columns.

A sample day from a Pelvilog report. Every diary day gets one of these, with the totals worked out for you.

From appointment to report in four steps

Set up a diary in under a minute. Pelvilog handles the reminders, the maths and the filing.

  1. 1

    Send the diary

Find your patient in Cliniko, choose bladder, bowel or both, and pick a start date. Pelvilog emails them a personal link.

  2. 2

    They log on their phone

Drinks, voids, leaks and bowel motions, a tap at a time. Each entry saves as they go, even without signal.

  3. 3

    You get the report

When they tap "I've finished my diary", their clinician gets an email. Open the report to see the charts, averages and clinical flags.

  4. 4

    File it in Cliniko

Upload the PDF to the patient's file in one click, or have it sent the moment they finish. Pelvilog can start a draft treatment note too.

Easy enough to keep up for three days, or fourteen

Paper diaries get lost, guessed at and filled in from memory the night before. Pelvilog lives on the phone your patient already carries.

  • Nothing to download

The link opens in their browser. They add it to their home screen and it works like an app.

  • Works offline

Entries save on the phone and sync when signal comes back. Nothing stays on the phone once the diary is sent.

  • Clear, plain prompts

Cup and mug sizes for drinks, damp, wet or soaked for leaks, and a Bristol stool chart built in.

  • Easy to fix mistakes

Tap any entry to change or delete it, right up until they send the diary to you.

  • Your clinic's name on it

Patients see that the diary comes from you, not from a company they've never heard of.

  • A nudge to rebook

When they finish, patients see a button to book their next appointment with you.

The numbers you need, already worked out

Pelvilog does the arithmetic you'd otherwise do with a calculator and a highlighter. Days follow the ICS convention, from after the first morning void to the next one.

Clinical flags

3-day bladder diary
  • Nocturnal polyuria: NPi 41% (> 20%)
  • Nocturia: 2 voids/night (≥ 2)
  • Urinary leakage: average 1.3 per day
  • Strong urgency (≥ 3): 1.7 voids/day

Flags appear when a result falls outside the expected range, so you can see at a glance where to start.

Bladder

  • Daytime frequency and nocturia
  • Nocturnal polyuria index
  • 24-hour output, with a weight-based check
  • Largest, smallest and median void
  • Fluid intake by drink type
  • Caffeine and alcohol intake
  • Leaks by severity and reason
  • Urgency ratings

Bowel

  • Frequency per day and week
  • Bristol stool type spread
  • Straining effort
  • Incomplete emptying
  • Time spent on the toilet
  • Urgency and accidents
  • Laxatives and fibre
  • The patient's own rating of each day

Every day gets its own frequency–volume chart. The report looks the same on screen and as a PDF, so what you review is exactly what goes in the patient's file.

Works with Cliniko

Connect Cliniko with an API key and Pelvilog fits into the way you already work. Search for patients when you send a diary, and upload the finished report straight to their file.

Turn on automatic upload and each report lands in the patient's file as soon as they finish. Pelvilog can also start a draft treatment note with the key results, ready for you to finish.

Your Cliniko staff list comes across too, so inviting your team takes a couple of clicks.

Not on Cliniko? You can still enter patient details by hand and download the PDF report.

Built for health data from day one

A continence diary is about as personal as health information gets. Here's how we look after it. The full detail is in our privacy policy and data processing agreement.

Stored in Australia
Pelvilog runs on servers in Australia, run by an Australian-owned host, close to the clinics and patients it serves in New Zealand and Australia.
Deleted on your schedule
Once the report is in Cliniko, the diary doesn't need to live anywhere else. Diary data is deleted automatically after 90 days, or any period you set from 7 to 365.
Encrypted where it counts
Patient names, email addresses and your clinical notes are encrypted at rest. Everything travels over HTTPS.
Private links
Each patient gets their own link that only works for their diary, and closes a few days after the diary ends. Emails to your team never include the patient's name.

Pay for diaries, not seats

Bring your whole team on board at no extra cost. You only pay when a patient completes a diary, so diaries that never get started don't cost you anything.

Common questions

Do patients need to download an app?

No. The diary opens from the link in their email. We show them how to add it to their home screen on iPhone or Android so it's one tap away.

How long can a diary run?

Anywhere from 1 to 14 days. Bladder diaries default to 3 days and bowel diaries to 7, and you can change either when you send it.

What if my patient loses the email?

Resend it from the diary page. They'll get a fresh link and everything they've logged so far is still there.

What if they forget to tap "finished"?

You can close the diary yourself from its page, then review everything they logged.

Can everyone at my clinic have their own login?

Yes, at no extra cost. Invite people from the Team page, or bring them across from Cliniko. Each diary is assigned to a treating clinician, who gets the email when it's finished.

Which practice management systems do you support?

Cliniko today. If you use something else, you can enter patients by hand and download the PDF. Tell us what you use and we'll let you know when it's supported.

Want to see it with your own patients in mind?

We're happy to walk you through a sample diary and report, and talk about how it would fit your clinic.
